Bio: Dr. Boxi Liu is a Associate Professor at School of Computer Science. His current research focuses on making meta-universe affordable via cutting-edge cloud computing technologies as well as developing both theorectically-sound and practical control algorithms for video streaming systems. Before joining School of Computer Science, Dr. Liu was a research scientist at Department of Cloud Arch. & Platforms of Tencent titled with Tencent Talent of 2020. He was the major algorithm designer/developer of Tencent's content delivery networking(CDN) system that supports several well-known Apps and public cloud services, including Tencent Wechat, Live Event Broadcasting, and the cloud gaming service in Tencent App Treasure. Boxi completed his Ph.D. jointly supervised by Prof. Tao Jiang(Huazhong University of Science and Technology, P.R. of China) and Prof. Leandros Tassiulas (Yale University, U.S.A.) with the hornors in Electronic Engineering. He also served as a research assistant advised by Prof Zhi-quan(Tom) Luo at Chinese University of Hong Kong(Shenzhen) in his graduate study. Prior to that, he studied at Department of Information Engineering (Advanced Class) and Qiming School robotics group during his undergraduate years. He is a senior member of IEEE and the recipient of Overseas High-Caliber Personnel(Shenzhen).
